Designated use:
- In the construction industry, Sigma-purlins provide an ideal and solid support for an unlimited range of walls and roofs.
- The standardized Sigma-purlins provide a solid and mechanically balanced framework which is easy to fix to the skeletal structure of the building.

Standard models:
The base steel for the Sigma-purlins is a high-grade, hot-galvanized structural steel of the type S280GD Z275 EN 10 147 or equivalent.
- The minimum yield point (RE) = 280N/mm²
- Sendzimir zinc coating Z275, with 275 grams of zinc per square metre, which guarantees excellent corrosion resistance.
- Perforated and cut exactly to measure.
In practice, the optimum use of Sigma-purlins is determined by the following four factors:
- The manner in which the Sigma-purlins are mounted.
- The type of roof- and wallcovering.
- The c/c spacing of the purlins.
- The wind and snow loads.
